ONE WATCH, TWO AWARDS!

In 2024, the watch manufacturer “Alexander Shorokhoff” starts off extremely successfully. The first completely round wristwatch named “SHAR,” which Alexander Shorokhov personally created for the 30th anniversary of the manufacture, has been awarded another design prize: the iF DESIGN AWARD 2024!

Alexander Shorokhoff” thus joins the ranks of the recipients of the globally renowned design label.

The model “SHAR” AS.SH01-5 in stainless steel with a malachite dial was awarded in the “Product” discipline, category “1.07 Watches/Jewelry.” The iF DESIGN AWARD is bestowed annually by the world’s oldest independent design institution, the iF International Forum Design GmbH.

The watch Shar impressed the 132-member, independent, international expert jury with its innovative appearance. The number of applicants was significant: the jurors had to choose among nearly 11,000 submissions from 72 countries to award the coveted seal of quality.

Since 1954, the iF DESIGN AWARD has been a globally recognized hallmark of outstanding design.

Even in its anniversary year of 2022, the model had already been awarded, marking another highlight in the success story of the watch manufacture: With great pride, the ADC Architecture & Design Community has awarded the exceptional “SHAR” the Architecture & Design Collection Awards 2022 “GOLD WINNER” in the category – Luxury Watch Design Built / Professionals.

The Architecture & Design Collection Awards is an open platform for creativity and talent, where all participants can showcase their best works to bring them great attention worldwide. And obviously, the automatic watch “SHAR” belongs to exactly these models, which score with your exceptionally round design.

The case and the sapphire crystal on the front are united in the form of a sphere. In order to connect the case back and body without additional holes, a single-screw design was developed. The screw is located in the center of the caseback and connects the two parts in a waterproof way. The sapphire crystal is perfectly matched to the spherical shape and blends seamlessly into the case.

The lugs are also made of small balls. To attach them to the case, a clever design was also devised: to ensure the absolutely horizontal position of the lugs to the case, a rectangular lug holder and a rectangular hole in the case were used. This makes it very easy to center the strap in an optimal horizontal position. This special holder is held by a screw inside the case. In addition, a soft and supple crocodile leather strap ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist.

Inside the watch ticks the Swiss movement ETA.2671 with automatic winding. The rotor of the movement was hand-engraved, as usual for Alexander Shorokhoff. The dial convinces with a genuine malachite dial.
